इस मौके पर इप्टा भिलाई और बिहार ने जन गीत गाए। ध्वजारोहण स्थल शरीफ अहमद मुक्ताकाशी मंच के बायीं ओर लोक कला वाद्य संग्राहक रिखी क्षत्रिय और दाहिनी ओर फोटोग्राफर अनिल कामड़े के खींचे छायाचित्रों की प्रदर्शनी लगी है। एक कमरे में काष्ठ शिल्पी श्रवण चोपकर द्वारा बिना किसी जोड़ के लकडिय़ों पर की गई नक्काशी का अद्भुत नमूना प्रदर्शनी में देखने मिल रहा है वहीं दीवारों पर जयपुर के पंकज दीक्षित के कविता पोस्टर लोगों का ध्यान अपनी ओर खींच रहे हैं। ध्वजारोहण के बाद इप्टा का प्रतिनिधि सम्मेलन सभागार में हुआ। इसकी अध्यक्षता पी. गोपालकृष्ण, रणवीर सिंह और समीक बंदोपाध्याय ने की। राष्ट्रीय महासचिव जितेंद्र रघुवंशी ने अपने प्रतिवेदन में दिवंगत साथियों विष्णु प्रभाकर, हबीब तनवीर, शरीफ अहमद, डॉ. कमला प्रसाद, प्रभाष जोशी, मणि कौल, शम्मी कपूर, अदम गोंडवी, जगजीत सिंह एवं अन्य को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। इप्टा ने आतंकवाद और दंगों के दौरान मारे गए लोगों को भी श्रद्धांजलि दी। श्री रघुवंशी ने कहा कि इप्टा मजबूत लोकपाल बिल के पक्ष में है और सिटीजन चार्टर को लागू करवाना भी चाहता है। उन्होंने कहा कि आज भारत के 20 राज्यों और 2 केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में इप्टा की इकाइयां सक्रिय हैं और हम नेशनल कल्चरल फोरम बनाने प्रयासरत हैं। इसके उपरांत ‘जन संस्कृति-समय के साथ मुठभेड़’ पर आधार वक्तव्य देते हुए डॉ. जावेद अख्तर खान ने कहा कि हमारे नाटक और गीत अगर बच्चों के चेहरों पर मुस्कुराहट न ला सकें तो किस काम के। ताकत के सामने की गिड़गिड़ाहट को निर्भिक स्वर न दे पाने वाले नाटक और गीत हमें नहीं चाहिए। 
शाम को इप्टा की राष्ट्रीय सांस्कृतिक रैली आकाशगंगा सुपेला से निकली। यहां 4 बजे तक आंध्रप्रदेश प्रजा नाट्य मंडली इप्टा, इप्टा आगरा, पंजाब,झारखंड, बिहार, राजस्थान, देहली राज्य, जम्मू कश्मीर सहित अन्य राज्यों के इप्टा के दल इकट्ठा हो गए थे। श्रमजीवी पत्रकार संघ की ओर से इनका स्वागत किया गया। पंथी करते छत्तीसगढ़ी कलाकारों की अगुवाई में यह रैली जेपी चौक से सेंट्रल एवेन्यू के लिए निकली। यहां जगह-जगह इस रैली का स्वागत किया गया। रैली सेंट्रल एवेन्यू से सेक्टर-1 पार्क-स्टेडियम होते हुए कार्यक्रम स्थल में लौटी। देर शाम खचाखच भरे सभागार (हबीब तनवीर रंगमंच) में बैंगलुरु से आए वरिष्ठ रंगकर्मी प्रसन्ना ने त्रिदिवसीय समारोह का उद्घाटन किया। इस मौके पर मंच पर कुलदीप सिंह, विनोद कुमार शुक्ल, सुभाष मिश्र,सीताराम, हिमांशु राय, जॉन मार्टिन नेलसन, अंजन श्रीवास्तव, रणवीर सिंह, अशोक भौमिक, जितेंद्र रघुवंशी, पी.गोपालकृष्ण, राजेश श्रीवास्तव, जुगल किशोर,राकेश व पी. संबा शिव राव सहित अन्य लोग मौजूद थे। छत्तीसगढ इप्टा के डोंगरगढ़ वालों ने उद्घाटन समारोह के बाद हबीब तनवीर रंगमंच पर दो जन गीत प्रस्तुत किए।मुंबई इप्टा का नाटक अंजन श्रीवास्तव अभिनीत ‘कशमकश’के अंश प्रस्तुत किए गए। कुलदीप सिंह की कबीर पर प्रस्तुति हुई और आगरा इप्टा ने नाटक ‘किस्सा एक अजनबी का’ प्रस्तुत किया।

इन दिनों कबीर पर अपनी कंपोजीशन से धूम मचाए हुए कुलदीप ने कहा कि उनकी नजर में कबीर एक ऐसे एक्टीविस्ट हैं,जो आज भी सबसे ज्यादा प्रासंगिक हैं। कबीर की रचनाओं पर किए अपने प्रयोग के संबंध में उन्होंने कहा कि मुंबई इप्टा के युवा लोगों को लेकर मैने पूरी रचना तैयार की। इसका नतीजा है कि युवा अब कबीर के ज्यादा करीब आ रहे हैं। फिल्मों की बात निकली तो कुलदीप ने बताया कि कॉलेज के दिनों में कभी जगजीत सिंह से वायदा किया था कि अगर फिल्म मिली तो तुम्हे जरूर मौका दूंगा। मेरे ही सहपाठी रमन कुमार ने जब 1982 में ‘साथ-साथ’ की प्लानिंग की तो मैं पहुंच गया जगजीत के घर पुराना वादा याद दिलाने। हालांकि तब तक जगजीत स्थापित हो चुके थे। उसके बावजूद जगजीत-चित्रा ने मेरे साथ काम किया। जावेद अख्तर के गीत और मेरा संगीत आज भी पसंद किया जाता है। लेकिन उस वक्त भारी डिमांड के बावजूद हमारी जोड़ी आगे नहीं चल सकी। इसकी वजह पूछने पर वह ‘ऑफ द रिकार्ड’ का हवाला देकर चुप्पी साध जाते हैं। इसी तरह ‘अंकुश’का जिक्र आया तो कुलदीप ने बताया कि तब एन. चंद्रा हमारे लिए चंदू थे, उन्हें भी एक ‘खाली बैठा’संगीतकार चाहिए था, लिहाजा मुझे ले लिया।
‘इतनी शक्ति हमें देना दाता’ की धुन मुझे अचानक ही सूझी, ये अलग बात है कि ये प्रार्थना इतनी हिट हो गई। कुलदीप ने बताया कि इप्टा से उनका जुड़ाव 41 साल का है और आज भी इप्टा में बहुत कुछ करने की तमन्ना है।
हम 4-4 कार में घूमेंगे तो असंतोष बढ़ेगा ही
वरिष्ठ रंगकर्मी व कर्नाटक के शिमोगा जिले में बुनकरों के बीच सक्रिय प्रसन्ना का कहना है कि देश में विकास का आधार ही गलत है। एक तरफ गरीब लोगों को कहा गया कि उन्हें अमीर बना देंगे, दूसरी तरफ जो अमीर थे उनके पास कारों की तादाद बढ़ती गई।

इससे तो असंतोष ही फैलेगा। ‘भास्कर’ से चर्चा करते हुए उन्होंने बताया कि शिमोगा के अपने पैतृक गांव हेग्गोड़ू में वह बुनकरों की सोसाइटी ‘चरखा’का संचालन कर रहे हैं, जिसमें हाथ करघे का उत्पादन हम शहर में ‘देसी’ के माध्यम से बेचते हैं। उन्होंने इस बात पर चिंता जताई कि देश में हैंडलूम रिजर्वेशन एक्ट होने के बावजूद साड़ी, टॉवेल और धोती जैसे कपड़े पावरलूम में बनवा कर हैंडलूम के नाम से बेचा जा रहा है। उन्होंने विभिन्न राज्यों में चल रही सस्ते चावल की योजना को आड़े हाथों लेते हुए कहा कि यह गरीबी-भूख मरी का तात्कालिक हल हो सकता है लेकिन इसका दूरगामी परिणाम खतरनाक है। सरकार का काम लोगों को स्वावलंबी बनाने का होना चाहिए।

लखनऊ इप्टा के प्रतिनिधि और ‘पीपली लाइव’ में मुख्यमंत्री की भूमिका निभाने वाले वरिष्ठ रंगकर्मी जुगलकिशोर का मानना है कि अन्ना हजारे का आंदोलन जिद पर आधारित है, इसमें उनका अहंकार ही झलक रहा है। ‘भास्कर’ से चर्चा करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि इप्टा में समय के हिसाब से बदलाव की बात से वह बहुत ज्यादा इत्तफाक नहीं रखते, क्योंकि इप्टा में बातें तो आज की ही होती है, जहां तक विचारधारा की बात है तो सारी विचारधाराएं बहुत ही आधुनिक है। जहां आम जन , किसानों और मजदूरों की बात होती हो वहां और क्या बदलाव होना चाहिए..? ‘पीपली लाइव’ के अपने किरदार पर उन्होंने चुटकी लेते हुए कहा कि मैं राजधानी लखनऊ में रहता हूं और वहां हमेशा नेताओं को देखते रहता हूं, इसलिए मुख्यमंत्री का किरदार निभाना मेरे लिए जरा भी चैलेंजिंग नहीं था। उन्होंने कहा कि आज कल वह अपना पूरा ध्यान अपनी भारतेंदु नाटक अकादमी पर केंद्रित किए हैं।

The National Convention and Cultural Ceremony of IPTA will be organised for the first time in the steel city Bilai, from December 26 to 28, informed Rajesh Shrivastav, General Secretary, Chhattisgarh Unit, IPTA while addressing a press conference in Bhilai, on Sunday. He stated that thorough discussion on conceptual and artistic aspects of contemporary contradictions will take place during the convention. Several prominent personalities associated with theatre will participate in the programme. And around 1000 artists from 24 states and union territories will depict the cultural diversity through their performance, and also raise the issues concerning the weaker section of society. Special conversations focused on drama, dance, music etc will also take place, he further informed.
Ranveer Singh National Vice President, IPTA stated that two-day national meeting was recently convened in Bhilai, in which the IPTA office bearers and members from different parts of the country participated. In this meeting, they pledged to dedicate all their energy and creative effort for providing healthy entertainment and pressing the issues related to public awareness.
All the IPTA office bearers appealed all the citizens to offer their importance assistance for successful organization of 13th national convention of IPTA in Bhilai.

Fire breaks out at Bhilai steel plant
A major fire broke out at the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) in the wee hours today, severely hitting the hot metal production at the flagship entity of the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).
According to official sources, the blaze broke out in the electrical cable tunnel of the plant, located about 30 km from here, and engulfed the power and blowing station. This station supplies compressed air to the steel plant’s blast furnaces, which produce hot metal. for detailed news click ...

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) Foundation Day was celebrated in BhilaiSteel Plant (BSP) on Sunday. 1028 executive and non-executive workers of BSP were honored on this occasion in the ceremonies organised in different departments. Including the workers and officers of mines area. in total 125 officers and 903 personnel were presented long service awards and certificates for completing 25 years of the Central Function was organised at Ispat Bhavan Conference Hall In which R Ramaraju, Managing Director raced the occasion as Chief Guest. Ramaraju privileged 60 officers ranked above Assistant General Manager with the awards for their long services.

263 Bhilaiance NCC Cadets appear in A Certificate Exam
Under the direction of Colonel D Roy, Commanding Officer 27 CG BN (Battalion) NCC (National Cadet Crops) Raipur and assistance of DC Parsai Principal Bhilai Vidyalaya, A Certificate exam for Junior Division (Class 8 to 10) wing cadets was held at Bhilai Vidyalaya Sector 2. 263 cadets (both boys & girls) of BSP (Bhilai Steel Plant) English Medium Senior Secondary School Sector 4, BSP English Medium Senior Secondary School Sector 7, BSP Higher Secondary School Sector 1, BSP Girls Higher Secondary School Sector 5, Lokbharti Higher Secondary School Supela and Host Bhilai Vidyalaya Sector 2 participated.Pravin Vishwakarma, Second Officer Bhilai Vidyalaya informed that A Certificate consists of
Practical and theory exam. The practical exam comprises of viva questions of drill, map reading, field craft, battle craft, weapon training as well as examination of different commands of drill. Similarly in written exam, ques-tions related to general knowledge, primary medical treatment, map reading, weapon training, national integration and leadership have asked to cadets in different sections, he added.
Vijay Kumar Pawar, first officer BSP English Medium Senior Secondary School Sector 7 said eli-gible conditions for A Certificate exam are cadet must attended a minimum of 75% of total training periods laid down in the syllabus for the first and second years of Junior Division/Wing NCC (all wings). Break in the NCC service of the cadet prior to his or her appearing. In the examination should not ex-ceed more than 12 month at one time, to count his or her service. In case the break exceeds 12 months, he or she has been on the unit rolls for a minimum of two years before it discharge and had attended 75% of the total period during it NCC Service he will need another 45 peri-ods of training to become eligible for certificate 'A' examination. In all other cases where above conditions are not fulfilled, the cadet must at-tended a minimum of 75% periods of the first and second year of training.
The third important factor is cadet should attend an annual train-ing camp Pawar further mentioned.
Uma Pandey, Third Officer BSP Girls Higher Secondary School in-formed that after clearing A certificate exam cadet will be awarded 10 , bonus marks in B Certificate Exam and also 5 bonus marks in railway and defense jobs.
The examiners were Subedar DR Thapa, Subedar Ramnaresh, Subedar Mahendra Singh, BHM Suryabahadur Thapa, Hawaldar Arjun, Hawaldar Bhupendra, CHM Virendra Bahadur, Hawaldar Bharat and CB Gurang all came from 27CG BN NCC Raipur.
Sudedar Mahendra Singh appre-ciated the performance of cadets and said Bhilai students have lots of interest in NCC in state. He wished cadets would be selected in Indian Army in a large number.

A major fire broke out in a shop at Jawahar Market on Thursday morning. Though no casualty was re- ported yet damage worth Rs 5 lakhs is estimated to a triple story building. The fire broke out in the first floor where the owner of this building Nathusingh Sancheti resided. Indore Cottons (Textile Shop) is situated at its ground floor The second floor is said to be occupied by students on rent.The fire broke out at around 09:00 hrs on Thursday at the residence of Sancheti. At the time of the fire, his family was out to attend religious sermon of Vishudha Sagarji Maharaj. As it was daytime and the fire was detected early a major mishap was averted. Due to the fire the house hold aricles were burned to ashes.
It was on witnessing smoke coming out of the building, the neighbors immediately called Fire Station, Police and other concerned authorities around 09:15 hrs. Five fire tenders rushed to the spot. As the approach roads were narrow fire vehicles faced difficulty to reach the site. There were rumours of some people being trapped inside the building, but Police confirmed that there were no casualties. Several shops across Jawahar Market are constructed in violations of rules.
The buildings do not have proper fire fighting equipments and there is no safety route in case of a mishap. The owners use every inch of the building to store their goods and only a small pathway is available for shoppers to go across the store. Several shops store goods even inthe staircase leading to other floors. This accident is a signal to authorities who ignored the safety norms to be followed in shopping complexes and market areas. Most of the shopping complexes in the twin city do not have sufficient fire fighting equipments or fire exits used to evacuate people in case of a disaster:
Safety Week celebration concludes BSP - BHILAI
Electrical Repair Shop celebrated ,Safety Week from January 4 to 8. During the celebration of the programme, various safety related events like quiz competitions, poster' design etc. have been organized by K H Baghel, DSO of ERS in association with central Safety Department.
Safety Engineering Department has also organized film show on Behavioral Safety viz. ‘JAGRITl’ for contractor workers and ‘SANKALP' for BSP employees, which was attended by SR Rai, GM (Safety & Fire Seri vices) and Santosh Singh, DGM (ERS). GM (Safety & Fire Services requested the contracto workers as well as BSR employees to follow safety norms and ensur their safety as well safety of their colleague is on work place. No God to incarnate from heavens : Tarun Sagar
Belief in self is more important than belief in God
‘You have to step forward for your own sake. No God will incarnate 'from the heavens. So do not Leave your work on God.-To believe in self is more impor tant than to believe in God. Saints are the sea of kindness, so it is up to us that how much we soak up their character in ourselves.’ Munishri Tarun Sagar articulated these words during the religious discourse programme ‘Kadve Pravachan’ going on at Police Ground, Sector-6.
Organisers made a sitting arrangement for 20 to 25 thousand people, but still' a large number of people stood outside the tent for 2 hours to heed the sermon. Munishri bluntly said that he is not afraid of nothing and no one. He pointing out on commando force engaged in his security said that he do not have any sort of threat, as Chhattisgarh Government has privileged him as the 'state guest. He also slammed some 'members of Jain community on some issues. He stated that some of them opposed his views 20.y¢ars ago, but he is not 'bother of such people. He in satiric manner commented thatlwithout a few of villains, the real character of hero could not be
showcased. He made it clear he would 'not work under any pressure he is free and would stick with his principles.
‘Worship the Goddess Lakshmi but do not trust her. whatsoever. She is worth orshipping but not trusting. Whoever busted her was betrayed at the end’ added Munishri. He stated that it is a big delightcfor-him that people hear him, in spite of his harsh words. He urged everyone to remember his words, no matter if they forget him. He said that Bhilai is not inferior to Raipur by any means.

Remember the God; pray to God, you are the only one to take cared of yourseltl If food is necessary for body, then remembrance of God is certainly the same for soul’ said Munishri. Munishri further mentioned that the iight between son and father, Stepmother and stepdaughter and among neighbours is not an extraordinary thing. He told that everybody ‘wants to change others; but in fact the need is to change oneself; He 'added that as people could not manage to do so, they tight. He asked everyone to try to see within oneself and change what needs to be changed .
Mini Train to run on short route
Now Mini Train will run on shorter route in Maitri Bagh. Maitribagh Management is shortening its route. Rails are being laid on the old track. It lessens the danger of accident. Coaches of the mini train have been derailed several times on the new track.
The work of laying rails on the old track is going on. As per information the old track was totally based on the design of engineering. New track was definitely lengthier but perhaps some technical faults remained in it. Due to this, ,Coaches used to derail occasionally. Though any serious accident never happened yet there was always a threat of possible calamity. This track is being built in such? a manner that their rails do not get plunged into the ground. Due to lack of granite in the new track the rails are almost touching the ground, which causes a danger of unbalancing of the mini train. According, to the sources old track is shorter in length that is why the journey would end sooner as compared to that of new track. Management has planned to run the mini train on the old track on the days of large crowd in Maitribagh, so that the children do not have to wait too long for their turn. The dismal situation prevalent in the field of pure Science as our present system does not attract the best brains for this field were the words articulated by K Dr SK Pandey (Vice Chancellor, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur) who graced the two day National Symposium on “New Horizons in 'Physics & Electronics” as chief guest. The symposium was organised under the auspices of the Dept. of Physics &, Electronics, St. Thomas College, Rubandha.
Dr BP Chandra, former Vice Chancellor (RVU) gave a detailed nificant development in Physics and Electronics, stressing upon luminescence induced by elastic deformation of nano particles; On ,the first day experts who gave invited talks included Dr RC Agarwal (RVU, Raipur) (Solid State lonics), Dr Pragyesh Agrawal, St. Aloysius, J abalpur (Scopes &. Applications in Nano Electronics), Dr. SJ Dhoble, Nagpur University (Nano Opto Electronic Materials) Dr Prafull Jha, Bhavnagar University (Nano. Physics), Pragyan Chakravorty and B Keshav Rao presented papers on Electromagnetic `materials nomena in Nano lonic Electrolytes respectively.
The talks were followed by al lively discussion session in Which the students participated actively and enthusiastically. e Symposium is being organized with the objective of providing a platform for the students and to become aware of the latest developments' in Physics ' & Electronics. About 250. delegates are participating in the symposium. Bhavana Karketta, Nisha T hakur and Jhalak Naidu conducted the lecture. Prakash Swain proposed the vote of thanks.
Lecture on 'Vision 2010 onward' held

Durg Mayor Dr Tamer while addressing the guest lecture session on “vision 2010 onward" in Medical & Health Services (M&HS) in the Conference Hall of JLN Hospital & Research ,Centre praised the sincerity of all doctors and hoped it continues. He also hope that BSP would continue to contribute towards Health Care management in the neighbouring areas.
The purpose of the programme was to get the views of some eminent personalities like Dr SK Tamer new Mayor -of Durg, PK Aggarwal, ED (P&A) and Bharatlal, ex-GM Incharge (Mills & Quality), BSP.
The doctor fratemity and other- executives of- M & HS were in full attendance in the hall. Dr SJ Rizvi, Director M&HS lncharge briefed on the session and asked, the doctors and all 'concerned to get ready for delivering the best patient care in our hospital.
Bharatlal stressed that the hospital is a business centre where the patients are not only treatment seekers but also customers. He also emphasized that support services in hospital be
very good as the patient spends most of his time with them rather than withdoctor, waiting time
of patients should not be a period of boredom and they should be provided with individual chairs
and provided with TV in waiting hall; Response time in casualty to be very prompt; Doctors should look beyond their specialty.
ED (P&A) appreciated the new initiative in the New' Year. He ‘also stressed g that the “SAMBEDANA” Workshop being conducted for medical staff should lcontinue and should cover everybody. He also opined that: The doctors should be-sent to seminars and conferences to update their knowledge; Doctors should update their knowledge through internet; Medicines should be wide ranging not a restricted list; The time of doctors with patient should be exclusive for the patient without any distraction; The medicine be prescribed for I -2 months to reduce rush. Dr Subodh Hiran, DMHS proposed the vote of thanks. The " programme had been organized jointly by Personnel, S&A, M&S and other sections of M & HS.
