Robots make human life simpler and longer : Dr. Sthapak

“Robots cannot take place of human being but it is fact that robots are creation of human mind. They created them to make their life simpler and longer” ,said Dr BK Sthapak, Vice Chancellor, Chhattisgarh , Swami Vivekanand Technical University as chief guest while inaugurating the 4-day national level Symposium cum workshop on' “Planar Parallel Robots and Mechanisms” at Rungta College of Engineering and Technology (RCET) campus on Thursday. Rungta fGroup is organising this workshop in memory of Prof . AC Rao, famous Researcher in Mechanisms and Machines. Kamal Sarda, Chairman Sarda ,Energy Ltd; Prof BVA Rao, former professor IIT Madras and Dr DS Bal, coordinator of the workshop and for- merdirector Technical Education Govt. of CG' were guests of honour while`Santosh Rungta, Chairman Rungta Groups presided over the function.

Dr Sthapak  further said that robots are very apt for today’s industriallife. No corporate sector wants to work in areas that require unnecessary manpower. He also recollected the efforts of Prof AC Raoiin the research field. Kamal Sarda expressing contentment said that after the formation of Chhattisgarhmany private engineering institutions have come 'up giving opportunities to students in professional education. He also stressed over the entrepreneurship skills in the young budding engineers.

Prof BVA Rao cherished his memories shared with Prof AC Rao and mentioned that he was instrumental in developing innovative ideas in young minds.He pointed out that IT revolution has brought advantages as well as disadvantages.

Santosh Rungta said that it was a matter of pride for RCET to organise thatis workshop in the remembrance of Prof AC Rao. He also hoped that that symposium would raise the growth rate of research in State. Dr Bal thanked Rungta group for organising that work shop and detailed about the life of Prof AC Rao. Dr Adagadeesh said -thatxthe main aim of organising that symposium was to pay tribute to Prof AC Rao. He also mentioned that due to ilhiess Prof JS Rao could not' attend the workshop but his lecture was shown through online`  teleconferencing. 'He extended his gratitude Association for Machines and Mechanisms andslndian Society for Technical Education for sponsoring the event. Guests also released a souvenir ‘Proceedings’ of the workshop and CDs tpo. Meanwhile Santosh Rungta felicitated guests by presenting them mementos.

Joeeta Anurag Tomer conducted the programme. Sotirabh Rungta, Director (Technical) and principals, professors of other engineering colleges were present.
